2008 Track & Spring Conditioning Information
About Track & Field Track and Field provides an opportunity for kids to experience an individual sporting activity where their biggest competitor is themselves, Each child is given great support by the coaches no matter of their ability. Many times, the kids surprise themselves with what they can accomplish. This can be seen by the many awards which they can achieve in several of our meets.
About Spring Conditioning Spring Conditioning is now in it's 3rd year at St Jude and is run in parallel with Track. Spring Conditioning is an inter mural activity which places the child's fitness above anything else. We strive to help every child to become more physically fit. Some may choose to use St. Jude Sprint Conditioning as a way to get their child ready for soccer or baseball. Some may want to use Spring Conditioning to excel in their preferred sport.
Who can participate For Track, all student who are in grades 4th thru 8th grade and are in St. Jude day school, PSR programs or other nearby parishes. For Spring Conditioning, all students 4th grade and up.
Practice All practices will be either at Elyria Catholic's outdoor track or in St. Jude Gym. First practices will be at St. Jude. Dates of practices are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Practice time is from 5:30-7:00. Practices are not mandatory. I recommended that practice is attended twice a week at a minimum. First day of practice is March 3rd.

Track specific Information
Events: Running, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1mile, Relays Field Events: Long Jump, Standing Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump (6th, 7th, 8th), Discus(7th, 8th)
Meet Information
Locations: Westlake High School, Lakewood High School, Padua High School (Parma) Dates: Sundays beginning in April. (Not confirmed, but plan for it.) Time: 4th, 5th graders start at 12:00 - 6th, 7th, 8th graders start at 1:30
